At Jill Webb Training, I’m incredibly proud of the work I do to support charities and the voluntary sector. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of delivering training that helps organisations ensuring they are operating safely and efficiently, while empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to make a real impact.
Supporting the Voluntary Sector
Having worked it the sector, I know that it is incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Limited resources, a reliance on volunteers – who can be great but so difficult to find – and constantly changing regulations make it essential for organisations to have a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. I tailor my training to meet these needs, helping staff and volunteers gain the confidence to handle real-world situations with professionalism and care.
I’ve worked with a wide range of charities, from small, local initiatives to large, national organizations. My experience has shown me that each organisation faces different challenges, and I make sure that my training reflects that. Whether I’m helping a group of volunteers learn how to provide first aid or guiding a leadership team through the complexities of safeguarding, my aim is to make sure everyone leaves the training with the skills they need to succeed.
Navigating Uncertain Environments
One of the most difficult aspects of working in the voluntary sector is dealing with uncertainty. Decision-makers in charities and non-profits often find themselves facing unpredictable situations, from funding cuts to changing legislation. This kind of uncertainty makes it hard to plan long-term and can put immense pressure on leaders to make tough decisions.
This is brought into focus with the recent publication of Managing uncertainty: Questions for decision-makers to ask in an uncertain environment – a guide published by the government which aims to provide practical tips for working in an uncertain environment. This is more than apt given the volatile economic situation we currently find ourselves in.
If you’re part of a charity or voluntary organization and are looking for tailored training, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s safeguarding, first aid, or leadership development, I’m here to help you build the skills and confidence you need to tackle any challenge.
